Paul is counted as a part of the Xi Beta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He pinned 39 scores on the board for the Cougars in limited action during the 1992-93 season.

After school, Wight worked for various employers, jobs included bouncing, bounty hunting, and answering phone calls. He then met a person named Danny Bonaduce, he then made a connection between Paul and Hulk Hogan. Then he started the current occupation.
